We've been harvesting so many veggies from our garden the past couple weeks, that I have so much I don't know what to do with! I came across this 24 hour refrigerator pickle recipe on Tik Tok. Yes, of all spaces. I had to try it and it's hubby approved!
24 Hour Refrigerator Pickles
Who knew you could make crispy, fresh, and delicious pickles in just 24 hours without any cooking time?! This 24 hour pickling recipe is so easy!
Ingredients:
3 cups water
3/4 cups vinegar
3 TBSP sugar
2 TBSP kosher salt
6 small cucumbers or 2-3 large cucumbers from your garden
2 TSP dried dill or a few sprigs of fresh
4 fresh garlic cloves- chopped or 2-3 TSP minced garlic
2 TBSP pickling seasoning
Instructions:
Cut cucumbers long ways into spears. Place inside a air tight plastic storage container or a mason jar with lid.
Combine water, vinegar, sugar, salt, dill, garlic, and pickling seasoning together and pour over the pickles. NOTE: I did not have pickling seasoning at the time when I made these. I just used about 1 TBSP crushed red pepper flakes and it still turned out amazing! You can buy pickling season in the seasoning isles at most grocery stores or you can make it at home with these spices: mustard seeds, all spice, coriander seeds, cloves, ginger, red pepper flakes, bay leaf, and cinnamon.
Place your lid nice and tight on your plastic storage container or mason jar. Place in your refrigerator and let it be for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, pull out a delicious fresh and crisp pickle!
I promise you, these will make it hard to buy store bought pickles again.
My husband kept "taste testing" them about every 20 minutes.
